Hi, I’m Kate—a writer, professional communicator, sensitive empath, and lifelong learner. In addition to growing a career and raising a family for the last 30 years, I’ve always been striving to notice what life wants to teach me.
- What is my purpose for being here?
- What does my soul hope to or need to achieve in my time here?
- What about my children’s purposes?
- What about yours?
As an empath and intuitive person, I ponder these questions and try to interpret and navigate life—its challenges and miracles—with thoughtfulness, resilience and grace.
This blog is shaped by the significant life experiences that I have navigated, like my ex-husband’s alcoholism and recovery nearly 20 years ago, our subsequent divorce, and raising my two children as a single woman while trying to build a career. As a single mom, I rode the waves of my daughter’s high school and undergraduate years with my head spinning and the spectrum of challenges that my son faced (both the autism kind and the LGBTQIA kind) with a breaking heart. In between, there were shit relationships, big family dynamics, unexpectedly beautiful friendships, and your average work drama.
As I start this blog, I am navigating the recent, tragic death of my sweet and talented son while I also celebrate the ways that life, career and family are taking off for my insanely admirable and loving daughter. I am balancing the complexities of loss, beauty, success, failure, and self-discovery with appreciation, joy, grief, courage and trust in the universe.
If you’re like-minded, I’d love to share this space and journey with you.
Thank you for being here.
